I bought my digital camera from Costco. Its by far the best ive had, but i dont by any means call my self an expert at photography. Its a Casio Exilim. 10.1 megapixels and i believe it was around 300-350 dollar range. The pics turn out pretty good and their about 3000+ by 2000+ resolution. Model # is EX-Z1050.

Forgot to mention is also has a SD card slot along with a regargable lithium ion battery that lasts pretty long. Comes with a charger, all camera to pc cords, manual, etc...

Looking at the link above, I'd likely go for the Canon SD870IS. I really like the 3" LCD, although it has the same resolution as the 2.5" screens... therefore isn't quite as crisp, I used it on my ex gf's SD750 and it was really nice. I never used the little viewfinder thingies anyhow.

sony cybershots are always a good choice, i have a kodak easyshare v803 8MP and i like it since it was only about 150
