Default Can someone recommend a DC?

So I am suppose to let me Mom know what camera I want for Xmas...I haven't the slightest Idea what good cameras are out there right now.


Can someone recommend a good--> Point n Shoot camera under $500.00

That's the thing I have no idea what camera to pick what camera is good which are bad.

anything with AT LEAST 7.1megapixels and a Leica lens... OH, and a SD card-slot

Check out cnet.com They are a tech/gadget site that reviews all electronics. I have a Cannon that I like very much.

Canon SD series cameras are great, and for that kind of $ you can get the IS models... I think 950IS is the best in the lineup right now, and I've experience with the SD700IS -- amazing little camera. The image-stabilization is incredible!
Makes the tiny camera better than most others. Plus, I just love Canon's designs... very easy to use, simple to learn the controls etc.

might i suggest Washington DC good night life and it is a pretty young city although the Cost of Living is a bit high I really like it.
