Default Burning a CD...

Yea, so about 2 weeks ago I was chilling with a friend who had a cd in his car where he could scroll through all the albums and then through all the songs in the album. It was a Pink Floyd cd and I was ranting about how cool it was that he was able to do that. He then gave the cd to me saying he could just make himself another. Popped it in the Symph II and I gotta say, one of the coolest things about my car I didn't even realize I had until I accidentally discovered it. On the unit it displays "MP3 CD" and when I'm in it I can scroll through the albums and then through each song ini the album when I select it.

My question here is, how? I mean, I went to go burn an mp3 cd through iTunes but it just listed each of the songs individualy. Anyone know the specific setting for creating a cd in file format through iTunes or through any other program?? I believe I have some roxio program as well just never opened it being that I have been using itunes flawlessly until now. I have a bunch of cd's for a bunch of different artists, but if I could just compile one cd for each of them it would help to cut down on the collection in the car. This is only a temp solution until the new Dension units come out... that being said, any new news on that front??

Thanks in advance as always...

Just use windows to burn it. Pop a blank disc into your CD-R drive, and open it using My Computer. Then just copy/paste folders and such onto the disc, organize them how you want them (like any other folder or drive), and then on the left hand side, click on "Burn Files To Disc". The burn CD wizard will pop up, and ask if you want to burn as an Audio CD or as a Data CD. Tell it Data CD and start the burn. Voila! MP3 CD.

Unless, of course, you're using a Mac. In which case, I can't help you.

yeah MP3 CD's rock on amount of content - 250+ tunes on MP3 CD vs. 17 to 20 songs in the old CD format

Nero or Windows Media Player work great. You just need to make the cd in a data format.

You know, now I think of it, if you check under the Burning/Ripping tab in your iTunes preferences, I think you can set it to burn an MP3 data disc rather than a music CD; but you won't be able to create folders and such.
