Breaking News - GM to buy Chrysler?
This was just posted on msn.com. Rumor has it GM is thinking of buying Chrysler in it entirety, according to sources in Germany and the US. Details at this time are sketchy.
What will happen? Only time will tell...

This is something of interest - though honestly I can't see it happening - GM is struggling itself. Buying Chrysler to dismantle makes no sense as well or Daimler would do it already.

If this truly was the case and Daimler is interested in dumping Chrysler - watch if Toyota doesn't ****** it up instead. Currently they are the #2 US car sales king under GM - but without GM's money woes...

Brr, those are all horrible prospects - suddenly Kerkorian's idea of Renault/Nissan buying a minority stake in GM doesnt seem so crazy.
IMHO its not gonna happen, GM is in too deep of a hole right now, but they ARE desperate, so who knows what they might try to do (like bring back Asuna)
However, the prospect of M-B ending up in the hands of GM is downright terrifying.

Read an article of an intervoew with the #2 guy at Toyota... They may be #2, in the world, and even #2 in the U.S., but they're not yet ready to take on the redneck backlash that would happen to them if they took over #1 in the U.S. They may not be able to control their world ranking, by virtue of their product sales, worldwide, but, even if theu don't buy Chrysler (not DC, by the way... Just the "C" part) they're gonna hafta do some amnuvering to stay out of teh top spot for the U.S. market. Buying Chrysler would IMMEDIATELY place them in the #1 spot, U.S., AND make them (Toyota) the enemy of ALL NASCAR fans EVERYWHERE!!!
