sadly audi has decided not to compete with the rest of the high end euro cars. at least thats what i read on AW

 

In my opinion Audi needs a Two door sports coupe bad... I know the R8 is coming but, that's out of a comparable price range of the 335ci.. They have the S3 two door but only in Europe, and it's not really a coupe. The TT is more a fighter for Z coupe or roadster. I would seriously like to see a true Audi sports coupe to combat the 335ci.. I love BMW, and Audi... As a car guy I would love to see that battle, but as an Audi driver I hope Audi wins.

Imagine a coupe version of the A4 MMMMMM!!!!!! SWEET!!!

Is all that matters is speed and 1/4 mile times? Why don't you all just quite pretending and mod a Mustang. If you really want to go fast you can mod them to run 10's in the 1/4 without much trouble. Running 10's is rather fast. I bought my A4 because of fuel economy, luxury, handling and power. BMW's are awesome cars there is no doubt. I owned a 330i and 735i and they really are great cars. I felt my 330i was better than my A4 Ultrasport, but BMW's are really everywhere. I think there are more of them on the road than Honda. JMHO.

I really don't know why people make such a big deal about how fast these cars are. None of them are that fast compared to a Mustang modded.

People care about it because it's one of the few quantifiable aspects of a car's appeal.



Mustang people aren't the only ones who care about speed. There are Camaro guys too.


Yes, 10s are fast. But don't think for a second that you can do it in a Mustang without much trouble. Most Mustangs are 14-15 second cars, knocking 4-5 seconds off of the 1/4 mile time of any car is not easy. Even the Mustang Cobra is not a cinch to get into the 10s. But that's really beside the point....

And BMW owners probably buy their cars because they like the combination of "fuel economy, luxury, handling and power" as well. Some people like one or more of those specifications more than others, and that's why they concentrate on those aspects more than the others. Personally, I enjoy luxurious interiors, but if it comes down to that or mind-bending speed, I'm going to pick speed. Feul economy is nice, but for me it's just a bonus if I get it because I won't sacrifice one single HP for it.


And none of them handle well compared to a TRex, none of them are luxurious compared to a Maybach 62, none of them are economical compared to a '74 Honda CB125 motorcycle (100+ mpg baby), and none are fast compared to a Koenigsegg CCX.

 

The turbos in this BMW are about fuel economy and smooth powerband, not about raw power. I haven't test driven one yet, but I bet that will show up.

 

Yha I know about it but it's still in the to expensive price range.... I'm talking an entry level sports coupe.. You know like an A4 coupe... The Cabriolet is a two door... know if they just add a hard top
