I did sonmething similiar, with a jackrabbit, years ago, exceot it took out a 3-foot-by-8-inch-section of teh front spoiler on my Alfa Romeo, Alfetta, Quadrifoglio... During a blast up the A66, west of downtown Wiesbaden, as I was pulling on a 5.0 Mustang (in my puny DOHC 2.0L Alfa {read: half a Ferarri} motor). All of a sudden a white blur crossed teh road, ending about midway across my prow. A thump. Then a flapping noise as part of teh ($200.00[:@]) spoiler tried to hold on to what was left of itself. I reacted pretty much teh same as those guys did... Lifted, and drifted down to speed.

That was funny, tho... I dint laugh when it happened to me

A buddy of mine told me that one of his friends had a rooster go through the windshield of his new 997. Blood, guts and feathers all over the inside of the car. I don't know if the insurance people totaled it for him, but they should have.

I don't think I have ever hit a bird but I did hit a sizeable insect once that could arguably be called a bird.

Any chance the bird had an onboard camera or possibly a black box? I would like to analyze the situation and see what went wrong.
