If year wasn't an issue, I'd say a turbo Supra; they fall right in the 20-25k range, don't they?

ETA: Otherwise, like Panda said, EVO or STi.

I just talked to him and he was at the scooby dealership driving a new WRX and had just driven a year old Evo, he said he loved it but it might be too fast (or so his dad says)

No panda this really is for a friend of mine, my next car will probaly be a B6 1.8T or a B5 S4. I think i might get a CPO B6 1.8T then do the revo software and turbo swap when the warranty goes away.

I'm biased, but if you get a rev 3 MR2, you can plonk in a japanese spec 3S-GTE, which has 245 bhp, and the car will already do 0-60 in 5.2, and go on to 160 or so. easy to mod, and not expensive at all. Boost controller, water injection, decent exhaust, and intake, suspension, etc, and you can get 300 bhp, reliably. very fast, handle excellently, and comfy as ****. You can then go on and mod it with hybrid turbo's, etc, but anything more than 350 for road use is a bit pointless. Go on. i loved mine, and would happily sit with scoobies and evo's all day long. Go on, you know you want to! Just don't plaster it with stickers!

i would buy me a 1997-1998 240sx and drop a SR20DET in that thing and fully build it
that engine gots potential also, and its RWD

i duno if i can handle a MR2 the mid engine makes it drifty no

The 2.0 turbo engine in the S15 is a great engine, with shedload sof potential. Not sure about US versions, as they tend to differ to the ones I'm used to playing woth.
As for handling in an MR2, its nowhere near as hairy as you will hear about. It's MR so it does take a different style whe you are in the twisties. Smoothness is the key. keeping your foot on the gas in corners is a great feeling.. when you accelerate mid corner in an MR2 the **** just clamps down on the road, and you stick like glue. I used to run with Falken 512's (If I recall) and they were great in the wet and dry. You could corner damn quick, and get accelerating very quickly into the corner. As long as you don't unbalance the car mid corner its a fantastic ride. the rev 1 cars were a bit different as they had the weight distribution slightly different. They were 60/40 instead of the later 55/45 in the rev2 onwards. The later cars also had a wider track, and bilstien as standard, which helped out. Purists prefer the rev1, and the handling is a lot better, but when you are on the limit, the snap oversteer is a lot more sudden. Persobnally, I'd got for a rev3, (the ones with the round rear lights), as they ccame with 245 rather than 220 bhp, and were noticably quicker in a straight line. Why not just get him to go test drive a load, and see what he likes.

There is no US-Spec S15.
