Beach. Elk. Bald Eagle.
Yesterday on the coast here in Oregon it is freakin amazing weather, So warm and sunny, I love it when it is like this. First day we have had like this since last year. We just got done having a week's worth of rain and high winds.
So i went down to play with my X on the beach for the last time before i move to Issaquah, WA. to start my new job on Monday, and I came across some cool sights worthy of snapping some photos of.
I was not planning on taking a lot of pics, my camera battery had hardly any charge left on it when i went out there, I just took it just in case. Glad I did.
I went out towards my surf spot, the very tip of the Oregon coast, about 2 miles from where I live. Washington is right across the bar. As I was driving back I saw some elk in the marshy flat lands at the Columbia river's edge, fairly standard, they are always out there. But today I felt compelled to tread down thru the marsh and get some pics of the area and the elk and what not.
So, here we go...
My Xterra to start
I love these pilings, they held up the railway that delivered massive rocks out to build our jetty back in the day
And a friend to all of us
Turns out there were 2 of these buggers, I only saw the one posted up watching me, As i was walking back up to my rug I looked back and saw the second, then they both flew away, i was able to squeeze this last shot out right as my camera battery went to the sh*tter... Bummer, O well, I still am stoked I was able to get these, regardless of whether or not they are outta focus a lil bit... Gotta do what'cha can

Thanks man. I appreciate the comment(s).
I love the X... thing does awesome both on and off road. Especially since I lifted it and got bigger tires. Nothing too big. Just went from the stock 265/65/17 to some 265/70/17's. With that small step in tire size and lift it sits proportionally about how I wanted it to, subtle yet noticeable, and I get a little more traction with the slight increase in tire size and a little more ground clearance as well. I dont do too much off roading, just beach, snow, logging roads, that sort of thing. I also removed the factory step rails, IMO it looks better with them off. I tried it before I lifted it, didn't look that great, but with it sitting higher, I think it fits well.
But yea... I love being outdoors, especially on days like the few that we have had here. I had gotten home from the gym, decided to head out to just play around a little bit, and ended up trekking down through the swampy flat lands to get those pictures, got about as dirty as I could (in gym shorts, t-shirt, and gym shoes, haha...) but it was well worth it I think.
