Default Axe Grinders...

Well, it seems we have an un-tapped sub-culture.

This threads for you. Next time you pop an E-string, think of 'ol Jazz!!!

I used ta do sound, a couple lifetimes ago, back in H.S. and for a few years before I joined teh Army, for ALL the local bands (I was the ONLY actual sound-man workin' the S/W Detroit&'Burbs-area, back then... '77-'85). Hell, I've even workd a couple of USO-tours, when I was stationed in Italy... Haven't done sound since then (around '87-'89). Kinda miss it, sometimes, especially when I get dragged to some concert-in-tha-park by whatever flavor-of-the-week I'm putting up with, at any given moment.

Mesa-Boogies had teh sweetest sound. Well, them and teh old Fender Rhodes electric pianos. I dint know they still made them. They were kinda esoteric, even when they WERE popular. Only certain kinds of axe-grinders knew of, or even WANTED one, for that matter. You can't replicate the warmth of tubes...

One of the guys I used to hang with used to be a sausage-player for Parlament/Funkadelic.

I wonder if Mike is still alive...

Ahh well. those were the days

What's that in your AV? The pics too small for me to make out the logo. Looks like a fender set-up... But, those were mostly black, I think. I guess progress, huh? Boogies were Brown/tan-ish. You got a Boogie-stage amp?
Here is a better picture of my Tremoverb, the one in my AV picture (IMO the best boogie ever!)

and here is my new-to-me Mark IV... this thing is a beast
