way up, i still don't think audis get the same respect as bmw or benz for some reason. i'm not sure why, they're clearly the better car in my opinion. thoughts?

 

I don't think Audi is much better than BMW. They are both fantastic brands, no one can deny that. My dads
BMW is an awsome car to drive, it handles great and is pretty quick. I like Audis AWD, styling, and new DSG
gearbox etc. Both companies have very high quality parts and interiors. Equals in my opinion.

 

well looks audi only sold 8,039 units while BMW sold 24,179 units which is 3 times more in sales[&o]

 

exactly, both good cars but bmw sells triple the quanitity. i don't get it.

 

That whole "Ultimate Driveling Machine" crap. People believe it, for some reason. Mostly because Americans never get to DRIVE their "ultimate" machines anywhere 6/10ths, let alone 9/10ths. At 6/10ths it "CORNERS LIKE IT'S ON RAILS." At 9/10ths you BETTER know how to catch a rear-end as you power out of that hairpin, or you're leaving teh road @$$-first. Psshhh! "Ultimate" my left testykull...

you can't forget the fact that audi has "clean" looks. not too plain, but certainly not very intimidating (going by stock looks alone). people love that tuff and aggressive look; for example, compare the m3 to the s4. if you just went with looks alone, the m3 looks like it would absolutely destroy the s4 but we all know it's a fairly close battle. problem for the people that love the uber sporty looks is the cops single these cars out faster solely because of their looks. i get comments about the color of my car from the average person but most have never sat inside an audi to feel the layout and it takes someone to know what an audi offers to really know what the car is capable of. so at just under 1/3rd the bmw sales, maybe it's our perfect secret!

have you taken one for a ride? i have only seen them passing me on the roads. they look huge compared to the average car in germany, but what about back in america? is it bigger than the escalade? and the interior, is it online with the rest of the fleet? i have a friend interested in one, but being their first suv he is skeptical. a real person outside of magazine driver's opinions would be cool.
