Good choice. My #2 son is an ME grad from Cal Poly. (my old school) In his third and fourth year (that would be ~ 3 years ago) he worked on a bio diesel engine project the school is putting serious interest in. There’s a good future in that.
Now combine a bio-diesel hybrid with regenerative braking and you’ve really got an idea…

I owned a TDI before the A3 and used a mix of Biodiesel upto 100 % with great success. I'm now looking for an older Mercedes diesel to convert to waste vegetable oil. Working in restaurants, I have an almost unlimited source of free fuel to use. It would be my new commuter.
