Audi Roadjet Concept
shown at 2006 NAIAS. Thoughts?
Looks great, but what's it supposed to be?

RE: Audi Roadjet Concept
I'm not feelin' the rear end and those wheels have got to go.
It has some nice styling though.
I wonder what the drag numbers are with that rear end in the wind tunnel. There has to be some reason other than "This is the best looking thing we could come up with right now."

RE: Audi Roadjet Concept
I love the profile, but the front is a little concept-y and the rear is just bulbous and weird...I wish someone who loved cars would take over Audi, invent sound-dampening that weighed less than nothing, and put in an aluminum, variable-valve-timing, smooth, 20v I-5 making between 260-320hp in EVERY SMALL AUDI. A3, A4, and TT. They could go toe-to-toe with STI, R32, Evo, Mustang GT, SRT-4, whatever. They would all have non-essential interior accoutrements excised, and would have cloth sport seats, just a 6-CD changer and an iPod link-up for ICE, and none of the secret depleted-uranium sacks that current Audis must have squirrelled away in the frame somewheres. Curb weight of 3000lbs, and a rear-biased torque-split, and that I-5 would be BEHIND the front axle instead of tacked onto the outside of the grille...Argh. Call those cars the S-line, let the RS line be comfort+luxury+super N/A performance, and chase down M-division and AMG.
I'm going to push this agenda until it's reality.

does look nice... but where the hell will this fit into the lineup? they just revamped their lineup... so it's not a design test, and i can't see how they'd fit this in... so is this car just a gigantic waste of time?
