Yes, he is... It seems the *new* way to enforce traffic laws is to track us from the forums to the highways, so, be nice to your "Ask a Cop" thread!!!

Honestly barely anyone uses the same codes. We commonly back up our neighboring areas if close to the line and they both use different codes. Our dept doesn't even use codes we use general talk it's less confusing if someone is backing you up and if they don't know your codes for your dept they can still understand whats happening. Quite a few depts in our area are going to general talk.

how much over the speed limit can i go without being ticketed?
are cops more lenient on interstates where 90% of cars are traveling road trips, rather than just day to day errands?

what do i say when you ask: "maam, do you know how fast you were going? or maam, do you know the speed limit?"

what are the best things to say to get out of a ticket?

Just wear a VERY low-cut top, and go braless... Perk yer nips as they're walking up to your car! 90% of the time, this'll work on 90% of State Troopers. And, ME!!! But, I'm not a Cop, so, when *I* pull you over, I'm pretty much just wanting to look down your top, anyway

I've noticed it depends on the cop, I usually float 5 over around town. I got stopped for 3 miles over the speed limit once, by this dumb ***, and yes I am referring to him as a dumb ***, because he stopped me for 3 over, then attempted to issue me a sabraity test, then complained about the windshield sticker on my camaro, and then proceeded to ask if he could search my car, and finally after wasting 45 minutes of my time, he let me go, with no ticket or anything.

And 5 to 10 over on the interstate. Generally speaking, I think it's normally reckless if you are 20 over on the interstate, some places its 15. And I think 10 over or 15 over in a 25 is also reckless.

I'll generally let 1-2 cars pass me, and match pace after they get about 1/2 mile ahead-ish. At most sane highway speeds that puts about 20 second cushion between them and me following along behind. My thinking is: 20-seconds is enough time for any cop behind a billboard, or tucked away, or on an overpass to make himself known, before I pass him. This is ESPECIALLY true in PA, but, I generally use this rule on any interstate I drive.

For the ones I drive on a regular, I have a good idea what their tolerances are, based on experience.

MD = 16over
VA = 12/16over (12 = NOVA/16 = SOVA)
PA = 11over
OH = 16over
MI = 19over (especially at night)

Needless to say, MI is currently my favorite state to "legally" speed in.

If I'm running the I's during teh day, I try to stay in and amongst other cars, holding my speed to 1-2mph above whatever teh pack is rolling. Puts the Erkels behind me without drawing attention to teh fact that I am speeding (cops tend to look for teh moroons that stand out... keep your profile low and you'll be better off). At night, I try to stay away from other cars altogether, for safety reasons. Choosing instead to ride solo and try my best to position myself equidistant between teh taillights ahead and the headlights behind.

And, day or night, every so often I lift just enough to let a car or two pass me, and get right back to whatever rules I'm operating under.

Hey! Ask A Cop!!! Think you'd catch me using my above stated operating parameters?
