ok.. say i was in school but they told me i had to get deployed. can i stay? and go to school? or do i have to go?

Nine weeks basic training then you go onto advance training in your particular field, the length depends on the job. For instance a truck driver job is 8 wks while counter intelligence is 18 months. The asvab is just like an entrance test. Your eyesight ins't an issue, as long you can pass the markmanship test you're good. You'll be forced to wear the ballistic goggles with your prescription aka birth control goggles on the range though.

thanks for the input... im going to go talk to a recruiter tomorrow...
and marksmanship i dont think will be an issue... i have fired many weapons and trap shooting is a big hobby... also rifles and pistols.
can anybody go into any field?

2600 per month, you get paid every two weeks. That pay chart is only for active duty time though, when you get to your reserve unit you'll only be working 2 days out of the month.
