it's actually a latin word (or base word) meaning to hear - like audible. It is also aLatvian word meaning "tissue".

If you look up the early history of Audi it tells you about how the name came about...
Well, Technically Audi in Latin means "listen" but yeah, you got the idea.

Its "aou-dee". This reminds me. First time I heard a texan with a deep southern accent say "ford taurus" I laughed so hard I cried. I asked him to repeat it about 10 times for my amusement.

o man, me and my friends have this arguement all the time when we're drunk. its ou-dee not aw-dee. if you think its pronounced aw-dee than you like it up the butt.
