I'm curious if this works out for people. What do you think would happen if i put my 98 avant 2.8 with 175k on there? I bet it would go for about 3g's or so which is too low. Just curious cause i'm trying to sell this car by april.

 

I'm sure there are a couple for sale on there now, look your car up and see what they go for.
also your location helps. Middle of nowhere = not so good, big city = better chance.

you'll prolly get somewhere between 3 and 4K

if it is dead sexy and all dressed up, you could get 5k

post some pics, list all mods and maintenance, you should be on your 3rd timing belt by now

175K is the only downside, but as long as it looks good and all of the maintenance has been taken care of you should be set

so, why do you need to sell it by april, shipping out, moving to another country, need a truck for work?

if you just want something newer you might as well use it as a trade-in

have you put it on craigslist yet?...you should easily be able to get some bites

what's the lowest you are willing to sell it for?

I would take some nice pics of it, do a full write up on it, possibly make a little video of it (like starting, driving, make sure all the lights work, fold down the rear seats, take video of the guages/odometer)
then, put it on eBay and set the reserve at the lowest price you are willing to sell it for...worst comes to worst, no one meets the reserve and you keep the car, but as luck may have it, you'll make a good sale!

id say atleast 4-5k with possiblilty of up to 6k, only because not alot o people on ebay sell an avant so i guess its rare or something, i sold my old wrecked audi, it sold in 2 weeks but i had to pay like $90 listing fee, also the guy that bought it from me, we did an out of ebay deal and he picked it up a day later paying cash for bent frame audi a4, didnt have to pay the rediculous ebay commision.

 

Thanks for the encouraging words. I'm going to Hawaii to help a friend with some environmental research. I love my audi but I'd rather take the change with me. I'd also like to hop into a sedan at some point, probably 1.8t, or worse comes to worse an economical honda accord! But i do know this forum has given me the 1.8t bug.

 

gl on the sale!...keep us updated, like I said, with pics we will be able to better judge the worth of yor car, plus you may end up selling it on here...there are alot of avant fanatics who would prolly love to own your car...the 30v is a bulletproof motor, I have seen more than one hit 300k, and more are doin it everyday I am sure...
