Anyone know anything about kegerators?
so i'm moving off campus on the 4th and moving into a beach house with 3 of my friends. we wanna get a kegerator, but everything we find is usually around $800, which is ok i guess, but for just using it one year, its kinda steep. i've searched ebay but everything thats a decent price is all "pick-up only" and usually too far to drive and get.
so do any of you know of any good places to get a kegerator for a decent price???
ps we're trying to find one that holds a full keg, although a half keg would work too

Whadda bouta big plastic bin with a schitt-load of ice? Unless yer using it frequently $800.00 for a "sometimes-use" item IS kinda steep...

yea thats true, although we kinda wanna get like a keg / half keg of good stuff on tap for ourselves, and then when we throw a kegger, just get a few kegs of bud and keep it on ice, kegerators (not only keep the beer cold), it pumps CO2 back into the keg keeping the beer from getting skunked

one of my friends at a frat is building one out of an old kitchen fridge. there are kits you can buy - its a lot cheaper than buying an actual kegerator.

That's the way to go. My brother-in-law has one of those on his deck.....awesome! He bought the fridge from a newspaper ad for like $100.

If you can get a cheap used fridge, there are plenty of kits.
You could even go with a jockey box.
