Default Anyone had a Rhinoplasty?

So i have broken my nose several times but my ENT said he didnt want to operate while i was still growing. The last time i broke it was when i was 14 and first was around 8. All accident types stuff, but now with alot of cartilage build up and such, my septum is really fvcked up. He said it is the shape of an S and when ever i get a cold it gets completely stuffed up. So i decided to have it fixed on the 20th. He just going to straighten up my septum and get rid of a lot of the extra cartilage.

Anything i should know? What should i expect as far as pain and recovery? Christmas eve will be fun b/c my packing doesnt come out till christmas day. Anyone know if it will sting to smoke or drink after its done. I know i cant do either until after i have the surgery b/c of the anesthesia.

oo in that case dr. 90210 agrees also, but looking for a real response, not what the TV says.

well when i broke my nose, i also had a deviated septum so my doctor fixed that as well. i had to get the packing and everything. as far as pain it sucked ***** the first 2 days(tho that could've been from breaking the nose not fixing my septum). i didn't like smoking ciggs, but weed helped. never tried drinking during that time, but i dont think it woulda hurt at all. getting the packing out is the weirdest feeling in the world lol i was amazed they could fit all that **** up my nose lol

.....so why do they call it "Rhinoplasty" anyway? so you've got this huge nose and you're told you need to see a doctor who will perform a rhinoplasty on you? "yeah, doc, i want my nose to look like THATrhinoceros!"

i dont know why its called a rhinoplasty either. i think it might but b/c the used to cut the horns off of rhinos to sell.

Chaos, i was talking about weed, i need it for my insomnia (i have a Rx for it). It killing me not smoking it for a couple weeks. No withdrawals just sucks not being able to sleep.

Yeah - I had it done about 3 yrs ago, not b/c I broke my nose - just because I've always had trouble breathing through my nose. Wife always complained about my snoring. Recovery wasn't too pleasant with about 5 lbs of cotton stuffed up your nose and into (it seemed) your brain, butI got through it. Some of the 'blockage' seems to have returned, but it's still far better than before the surgery.
