Anyone else dating someone in the military?

RE: Anyone else dating someone in the military?
Be nice J,can't you see he's genuinely conflicted?
Anyway, MI (what "we" refer to the "Military Intelligence" [note: correctly spelled, this time] community) barely ever leave their offices, let alone visit ACTUAL combat zones. OH, it DOES happen, bet they're generally staying someplace even cushier than the Air Force' air-conditioned hotels...
If she's MI her chances of being deployed, at least as part of her unit, just plumeted to something barely above 10%. Each year she's in her percentages go down another 2%. After 6 years in an MI reserve unit her probability of deployment will permanently become a negative number, by law!
On the reality side, yes, she could be deployed, but MI isn't big on getting their uniforms or boots dirty. Other than just keeping in touch and sending "care-packages", I don't think any of us can give any better advice than that.
OH, wait... get a blow-up doll, you know, for when you...

+1 on AWD. Intel guys/gals are usually pasty white from never leaving the SCIF, work odd hours, and are generally of the fobbit nature. For those who don't know, a fobbit is someone who never leaves the wire at their Forward Operating Base, or FOB, for short. She'll probably spend an entire deployment on a major airbase where they give out speeding tickets and have coffee shops. Just make sure to send her some condoms in that care package[8D]

Advanced training shouldn't be too long for MI, what is like 3 months? With her job (MOS) she'll most likely be deployed sooner or later. It'll suck but just stay in contact and support her...military intelligence haha, oxymoron. This is why I don't date in the military, just when you really get to know/like someone they or you have to leave.

Yabbut, peeps with less than 2 years in are still kinda *new* to the state of mind, so, unless they're BIG-GIANT ***** in the first place, it generally takes a REAL-LONG deployment, or, their 2nd or 3rd before they start ho-ing around. Cut dude some slack. She's still *new* so he really has littly to worry about, for about 18 months, or so, then...

...she'll start trolling the MWR tent during events like "Friday Night Karaoke" until she finds a couple of regular pieces. Suddenly, phone calls will become shorter and emails nonexistent- and you'll wonder what the hell is going on.
