a: All depends on the car. I seem to be favoring white lately, though.

q: (This is sort of a long one.) Okay, so my boss tells me on Friday that she wants me to come into work on Tuesday at 9:00a.m., help with a few things there (I work at a bakery in here in town part time - it's one of three businesses in town that I could actually work at...seriously [:@], and it's pretty easy money), then go to Springfield and do a couple things for her there, and come back and work for the rest of the day. Well, I get into work today at 9:00a.m. as was directed and she's not there. Another one of the employees told me she had already left to go do what I was supposed to do, yet I didn't get a heads-up of any kind (I thought this to be pretty bad - I don't care how much you've got on your mind, you're still responsible for letting your employees know what's going on). I called her and she acted like she didn't even remember telling me to come in, and that I should just stay at the bakery and help out. Being how it was so early in the day, there was nothing to do so I went back home. My question is: what would you do in this situation?? Keep in mind that although I don't need the money, it's nice to be able to make a little change on the side to help fund the weekend-long trips to STL that I've become addicted to.

(first of all....welcome to the "morning sessions" of audiforums, kolbs!!)

A: i would indicate to herthatyou understand the possibility of a miscommunication, butthat you're time is as equally valuable, not to mention thegas expense ofdriving to a jobwhere you were not needed. i would ask if next time she would like you to call before you come to confirm thatshe needs you. you canbe polite and direct and still get your point across.

Q:what's for breakfast?

(Part of the reason I work there is that it's four blocks from my house, so I usually just walk up there, but a confirmation call still would've been nice.)

a: I had some honeydew earlier, but I'll probably have a muffin or something pretty soon.

q: Do you drink coffee in the morning regularly??

a: Well, my dad always told me that computers are only as smart as their user, but since it's only a printer I'm not sure that really applies...besides the fact that my dad knows next to nothing about computers.

q: What is it doing (or not doing)??
