Nope. you have to add what's inside the parenthesis first. Then multiply that by 2, then divide.

48/2(9+3)
48/2(12)
48/24

the answer is two. I don't know why you added the asterisk into the equation, but if you take it out will probably change the answer to 2. You multiply BEFORE you divide, not after. The answer is 2
