4.0 Students at this school not allowed to wear special robes at graduation
I was reading Nealz Nuze (from radio talk show host Neal Boortz...boortz.com), it seems students that graduate with a 4.0 had previously been allowed to wear white robes instead of red at graduation as an acknowledgement for their achievement. The principal has decided this year they will not be, as all students are "special" and it makes the students who did not get a 4.0 feel bad. Link: http://www.durangoherald.com/asp-bin...ws080417_1.htm This is crap, this is why America is going down the sh*tter, no one is rewarded for achieving, and those who don't achieve are coddled and made to "feel good." F*ck that, people who try harded and do better should be rewarded. Thoughts?

I agree 100%. I'm sick of this "Everyone gets a trophy for trying their hardest" bullsh!t. Its ridiculous. Kids need to learn that there are winners and losers in life and you need to be able to accept that fact.

If you extend it out, I believe this could have something to do with the martgage crisis....all these people who grew up and thought there were no winners or losers were like "hey I can afford that" when they couldn't. For the most part, handouts are for losers. Minimum wage is for losers. If you have the drive, work ethic, and basic knowledge you can rise above being a minimum wage medicare loser.

Communism(sp)[:@]
the "principal" must be a Democrat........
rant ended.....maybe
I have noticed how much our society has become so "politically correct" to make everyone feel good about themselves.... I'm glad I was born in the early 80's, so at least I got to experience smoking on an airplane, my parents not having to care about criminal charges for leaving me in a car for 5 minutes alone, if I got in a fight, boys will be boys(not a lawsuit), people are so tense as of late........ I was probably on the tail end of growing up before society went to hell. I feel sorry for kids that grow up after 2000, just as im sure my parents generation growing up in the 50's, 60's, and 70's felt sorry for my generation.

even though i woudl be a "red robe" i agree 100% that those who achieve should be acknowledged...
i also agree that everyone is so up tight in modern times.
very interesting topic espeically poking at communism.

You guys should check out Neal Boortz, he's on most talk radio stations around the country. He's a libertarian, but very realistic. He isn't like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity republican tool bag nonsense. I am politically conservative (fiscally, somewhat socially...) especially when compared to these socialists we have running for the democrat party, and I have found I agree with most of what Neal says (though not all).
