Save that $750 for your increased insrance bills. He is not doing anything which you can't do on your own.

Flippant, NAHO.. is an Officer here in MD.

yea but I kinda don't want my parents to find out.... since the car is registered and insured under their policy in PA....

I'm sure if I leave the points there their insurance will go up as well as mine

thats rough man. I got a speeding ticket about a year ago and I forgto the code, but you can plea it down to "Unsafe driving"... forgot what it was but its a no-pointer and like 400$ and your insurance doesnt see it. Definitely google "nj speeding reductions" or something of the sort. I just got a ticket this past weekend which Im making another thread for right now.... lame a.ss nj cops...

watever man I wanted to get home, i learned from my mistake. point taken

ANYWAY

$750 is kind of steep to get 11 points removed... so I decided to fight this ticket myself... FezA4, what exactly do I tell the judge when he asks me how would I like to plead? do I tell him I would like to plea a lesser charge or just not guilty. I honestly don't remember me switching lanes without a signal and I was doing maybe 75 before I saw that (cop)car speeding towards me and almost crashing into me

It is hard to fight a ticket.....but in some states there is a defensive driving course you can take and it will more or less erase the ticket you just got. I took the class about 6 years ago for running a stop sign and there was no fine and no points after that. One arguement you might have (and this is unlikely) is go back through the road you were traveling on and from the point you pulled on to it to the point where you were pulled over there must be a properly marked visible posted speed limit sign. If there isnt you can video tape it and use it as evidence. Ive gotten friends tickets dropped because of that twice.

On another note I hate those damn unmarked cop cars, they are looking more and more like normal cars now. Ive seen a damn MINIVAN....What the hell is that all about? what happen to the standard cop cars?

I was driving down the highway a few years back....racing another car of course and I passed an unmarkedcop doing 120mph in a 65mph zone. I was ready to put the hand cuffs on when I got pulled over but the woman cop must have been in a great mood that day because she let me off with a warning.

find another lawyer. traffic lawyers down here are under 100. is the attorney you talked to just an all-around type or specifically traffic? the specifically traffic guys are WAY cheaper because they knock off a bunch of clients at once.

you should see florida. i have seen an H2, sebring convertible, minivan, f-series pickup trucks, even a completely riced out civic. the bastards are gettin crafty lol

and the same thing happened to me. i was racing a jetta wolfsburg, passed a cop in the opposing lane doing 110+. he walks up to the window, asks wtf i was thinkin, tells me he's got more important things to worry about like drunk drivers than kids racing, and lets me go. i love college towns

Yea those little bastards sneak up on you....I thought the cop I passed was just another obsticle in the road so I just steered to the other lane and then before I knew it I had berries in my mirrors...which at 120 was about ahalf mile before I noticed. Yea we dont have all those different kinds of unmarks yet but im sure it isnt gonna be too long from now. I can afford the ticket in my car im just really not looking forward to it the day one catches me on my bike at 180+
