Default 24 hours of Le Mans

With a little less than 10 hours to go, the R10's are dominating. The #2 R10 is in the lead with the #1 R10 2 laps behind. One of the Peugeot's is in third place about 4 laps behind the #1 car. Sadly, the #3 R10 crashed less than 2 hours into the race and detroyed the back half.

No they said it was driver error, he went into the corner too fast and hit the guardrail. About 7 1/2 hours left and I don't think I'm going to bed. I really want to see audi take this race again. McNish is still running strong in the #2 car, four stints so far, while Beila just took over the #1. The peugot are 7 laps behind and still struggling with cooling problems. Pescarolo is in 4th and bitchin' as usual about the Audi advantage. Anyways back to the action...

Ahh they showed the pit stop where they dropped the car down before he had the wheel all the way on the left rear and probably bent the hub all to hell.

I dunno man....looks like that wheel flat-out fell off. Nothing the driver can do about that.

From the replay, it looks like they lowered the car while that rear wheel was only partially tourqued on...that damaged the hub assembly, and a few hours later, they paid the price.
