Default 2006 Formula One Season

Just watched the season opener in Bahrain. This should be an interesting season with plenty of competition.

Renault looks strong again and Ferrari is no longer dominant with Mercedes/McLaren right in the pack. BMW blew up a V8. Toyota is still pathetic no matter how much money they spend and there is an American driver this year as well, but I'm not so sure about his car.

Anyone else watching?

Speed is a must have. I don't have Tivo(I've read that it makes you watch more tv), but I'm gonig to get a cable box that can record for this year's season. That is helpful because you can wake up on Sunday and watch most of the races right then.

Monaco is May 28th. I'm going to try to remember to pick up a dvr box before the next race.

Monaco is always expensive, but it becomes crazy expensive during race weekend. Your dad's wallet caught a break there.

I haven't been to the race there, but there are a lot of other tracks that would be better for spectating. Unless you end up with some hot babe after the race, I would say it would be better to see that one on tv. You'll see a lot more of the race anyway.

Watched the race....Ferrari seems to be back...Williams seems to be back...Meclaren and Renualt are still strong...this looks like it is going to be a very good season.....

I think car reliability might be more of an issue this year because of the new v8's.....they had to make a lot of changes to accomodate. On speed they were talking about increased driveline vibrations, comprimises in cooling systems....aireodynamic changes...should be a fun season.

I wish Audi would take their V-10 Diesel to F1. THAT would make for some interesting racing, I think.
