I am in a jam right now! I am replacing the stock mufflers on my car with magnaflows. The stock piping is 2 1/4" and I only have enough for the mufflers at the moment. Should I go with a 2 1/2" offset or a 3" offset muffler? I will be replacing the piping in about a month to match the muffler. Give me your opinions on which will sound the best! Thanks

Go for 3" if you plan on doing power upgrades. The less pressure on the exiting gasses, the better.

How much it costs to do a power upgrade? And can it done ourselves or we have to go to a service center?

That depends solely on what upgrades you want done!
