1080p is the best you can get. i cant really tell a difference between 720p and 1080i. but like others say 1080p is amazing.

I have a 1080p LCD. It's the best combination for the size. I didn't need anything huge

1080p is the better choice, but you also want to pay attention to refresh rates and operating frequency. Check out an XBR version Sony LCD. 40" on up will have 1080p capability (their "W" series isn't bad either- XBR will have a better warranty). They're not cheap but worth every penny.

Twice as many pixels in a 1080p display... that should give an idea of what to expect.
For the price of 1080p TV's right now, it's a no brainer if you watch movies.
I've got a Westinghouse LVM-37W3 that I use primarily for a computer monitor, but will eventually add an HD source (1080p) to it. I've got HD TV on it now, which is great... but obviously looks no better than on a 720p tv.

1080p rocks - but if you want to save dough - go 1080i

unless you have satelite or blu-ray/HD dvd - you won't be able to capitalize on 1080p yet - but it's coming. [8D]

But then there will be some other HD standard to shoot for 1080x or 1200x - it will be like video cards in PC's I fear [&o]

1080p will give you the best picture. Currently, CBS Sports & NBC Sports brodcast HD content in 1080p. ESPN and FOX Sports are both brodcasting their HD content in 720p.

Rented it on Blu-Ray.... 52 inch 1080p....AMAZING. I know you'd be the person to understand the brilliance of a bong and Planet Earth in full HD Chaos lol.
