Default 01 tt 2.7 audi s4 vs 99 cobra

hello,

i have an 01 tt s4 stick shift, it has an apr tune, 14.5lbs of boost on stock k03's, front mount, intake and a full 3" exhaust. i have a friend with a 99 cobra convertible that has full bolt-ons, 4.10 gears and dyno tune, its pushing 316rwhp and 318rwtq n/a, it has 12" nitto drag radials and gets out the hole fast. what will i need to boost to beat him or what do i need to boost to atleast hang with him? he runs 12.5-12.8 constantly in the 1/4 and low 7's in the 1/8. can stock k03's do it?

thanks

This should do the trick

APR 2.7T Stage III Turbo Kit

Or, check out some stuff over at Ringer Racing. Mike Hood is a member here and has some good stuff to get you where you need to be. I think you've pretty much maxed out what you can do with your stock KO3s, so if you're not keeping up, it's time to spend big money.

You could try the highway? lol 4.10's suck at higher speeds. I think he can only max out at like 100? Not saying you should go that fast, nor do I condone it. But with a stage 1 tune, you shouldn't be too far behind. Don't let his 1/4 mile times scare you. Thats mostly the gears, not so much his power. I had a trans am with 400rwhp, and on a good day would still only hit low 12's. I didn't have 4.10 gears though. Had I had them, probably would've been mid to low 11's. Higher gears change a lot in the quarter, but suck for daily drivers or highway driving

he still outruns me on the highway. well ive been with him and it hit 150mph with the 4.10s, yea, hes crazy, and it still had plenty to go, pretty sure if he stayed in it it wouldve got to 170. he said hes putting 4.30s in it.

what if i ran him once spiking at 22lbs, you guys think thatll do it? then ill put it back to 14.5. ive run 13.3 down the 1/4 with my setup. you think 22lbs will get me a 12.8? im gonna replace the turbo's either way very soon..... i might as well give the k03s hell before i do.

Seems to me the only place you're gonna beat this guy with a K03 is in the twisties lol

If 22lbs doesn't give you a 12.8, at least it will give you an excuse to upgrade your KO3's sooner haha

Can you fuel it properly at that boost level on stock injectors?

If by TT you mean twin turbo, you do know your car is bi-turbo right?
