Default The *Unofficial* 2010 World Cup Thread

I know I can't be the only fan of the world's greatest sport, so I figured, what the hell. The World Cup is just around the corner, and I'm stoked!

Does Team USA have a chance this year? They took second in last year's international showdown in South Africa. I do know that June 12, USA vs. England should be an exciting match.

For all of you deployed Soldiers or contractors, in case you didn't get the word, AFN has been granted permission to air every game. It came down to the wire, and i was getting a little nervous, but they pulled it off.

A couple matches in the next few days I'm interested to see:
USA vs. England (June 12)
Germany vs. Australia (June 13)
Brazil vs. Korea (June 14)

Anyone else have their eye on a particular match?

lmao teh spammerz are on their game lately!

I think realistically if the US doesn't make it out of their group it'll be a travesty, though I very much doubt they'll make it any further than that. The England game should be fun to watch though!

Honestly I've been a fan of Premier League (English League) for a while. Although I haven't kept up with what's new in the league, I've also been cheering and rooting for England.

But yeah, USA and England should be a fun game to watch. US has came a long way when it comes to soccer and I'm pretty proud of our team.

I still don't freaking know how France won the Wold Cup several years back. That game was totally rigged.

I'm surprised France hasn't surrendered the match yet!

A nil- nil tie... a double epic fail! But hey, even when you don't score, you still get a point!

I've not a huge soccer fan, but I may have to watch (or at least record) the England-US game. A close friend of mine is a Brit and he was talking about the game, so we shall see!

Sounds like a friendly wager may be in order...

I grew up in a soccer family, Dad and uncles played, I played, brothers played, my kids play. My 11 y/o is actually really good, look for him in the 2018 World Cup!

I don't follow the sport as closely as I should, but it can be pretty difficult given the very limited air time it gets in the States. But, I love it none the less.

My dad loves soccer so I kinda grew up with soccer. Like I mentioned before, I haven't followed it in several years so it seems like I don't recognize most of the players on the rosters.

I was into soccer back when MU had Beckham and Ryan Giggs. The good ol' days.
