well in my opinion ( and trust me im not an expert ... I will admit that right off the bat lol) it just seems like we are pretty well screwed either way.... talk to almost any business owner (this is definately where greed comes into play) .. whether it is ethical or not, they will tell you that they are still going to make their money, even if it means getting rid of a person or two. Whether we want to admit it or not, while a good portion of us stand to get tax breaks from Obamas plan, do we really want to have to worry about keeping a job for a few possible extra dollars a year?

... im not saying this will happen to everyone, but with the current economy it just seems like we may be risking more. My work has already started cutting a few employees hours due to "budgetting control"... now im not saying that it will happen, but who knows what actions CEO's may take if the tax increases start to eat into their income... again it all comes back to greed

Greed withstanding - here's another fundemental truth (and this is where free enterprise wins out) a CEO can cut only so much until his company falters and fails.

Any owner of a company should pay up front to keep thier company going forward. That's how thier company thrives and succeeds. If an owner starts taking from the start then the company is doomed to fail.

Unfortunately, most companies (Walmart excluded) feel that excess is better than being lean and mean.

Most Fortune 500 companies (Walmart excluded) have CEO's, Presidents and a whole plethora of vp's of every aspect of their business - then thier own managers and so forth - that's alot of payroll.

So you will see loss where there should be gain - only because to feed the top echelons of the company first. Even now with a bail out - they are lloking to pay out to thier CEO's still... this is ridiculous!

Funny, most companies can survive chapter 11 by cutting a few top spots rather than a few hundred lower end, because it is the lower end that makes you the most money...

Sorry i did not have too much time to read everyone's posts but I will vote for Obama.... I agree with his economic plans and with most of his ideas. On the other hand If Mccain does win I just hope that he can turn the economy around and change the bad rep that the republicans have because of all the mistakes that BUSH did.... This may get some people mad but I hate BUSH!!!!

Got this from http://leafandbean.webs.com/troops.htm:

This is from a Captain currently serving in Afghanistan

Hello everyone,
> As you know I am not a very political person.
> I just wanted to pass along that Senator Obama came to
> Bagram Afghanistan
> for about an hour on his visit to 'The War Zone'.
> I wanted to share with you what happened.
> He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle,
> got to the area to
> meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is
> the commander here at Bagram.
>
> As the Soldiers where lined up to shake his hand he blew
> them off and didn't
> say a word as he went into the conference room
> to meet the General.
> As he finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell
> (pretty much a big
> top tent that military personnel can play basketball or
> work out in with weights) so he could take his publicity
> pictures playing
> basketball.
> He again shunned the opportunity to talk to Soldiers to
> thank them for
> their service.
>
> So really he was just here to make a showing for the
> American's back home
> that he is their candidate for President.
> I think that if you are going to make an effort to come all
> the way over
> here you would thank those that are providing the
> freedom that they are providing for you.
>
> I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players
> or the Dallas
> Cowboy Cheer leaders than from one of the Senators,
> who wants to be the President of the United States.
> I just don't understand how anyone would want him to be
> our Commander-and-Chief.
> It was almost that he was scared to be around those that
> provide the
> freedom for him and our great country.
>
> If this is blunt and to the point I am sorry but I wanted
> you all to know
> what kind of caliber of person he really is.
> What you see in the news is all fake.

this is the complete email minus the senders name.

Airguard, c'mon, mate, do a little research first before spreading crap like that.

Put some brain power before swallowing emails hook, line and sinker

I love political websites that throw anything up in hopes to see what sticks

Funny, with the internet and how things go viral so easy - even the major news services get caught up in the hoopla.

One thing that has bothered me from day one is the slanderous propaganda thrown at Obama.

He doesn't salute the flag.
He's a muslim.
He didn't wear a flag pin.
He got sworn in with his hand on the Koran.
blah blah blah...

It's sad that the only way in politics is to paint the guy so anti-American that the populace won't vote for you.... truly sad...

The media throws slanderous propaganda at ANYTHING and I'm sick of hearing the word 'change'. Really. I am. I can't get through a day without hearing that damn word at least 80 times.
