From his accident thread...all who think headshock favors socialism as a "noble" cause.
He follows to close, doesn't pay attention, hits the van/car in front of him, and says it's not his fault. The same mentality keeps the poor in the USA poor - blame their situation on someone else...
Where's this boy headed now? .... Cuba. Go figure.

Here's a good quote I found on the gun control topic. Who said it may shock you, then again it may not: "This year will go down in history. For the first time in history a civilizied nation will have full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future!" - Adolf Hitler, 1935
Just got a chance to read this and thanks for the enlightened post on the dangers of gun banning and gun control.

Ok sorry to disappoint everyone again...
and sorry that I spent 30 minutes searching for this story on cnbc, cnn, msnbc, and can't find it. Maybe their cameras weren't there or they refused to air something that should have a negative affect on the Obama ticket.
However fox "noise" reports the words from Obama's mouth just three weeks before the election.
Plumber to Obama: "Your new tax plan is going to tax me more, isn't it?" the plumber asked, complaining that he was being taxed "more and more for fulfilling the American dream."
Obama: "It's not that I want to punish your success. I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they've got a chance for success too," Obama responded. "My attitude is that if the economy's good for folks from the bottom up, it's gonna be good for everybody ... I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody."
http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/10...spread-wealth/
It's not the best quality video, but most of you won't watch it anyway.
But here, the truth from Obama's own mouth that he wants to "spread the wealth around". Redistribution of wealth is PURE SOCIALISM. It's not just with his healthcare policies gang.

His agenda for our country is a$$-backwards, and with Nancy Pelosi and a Democratic congress supporting his unwise policies will be start to the ruin of the country.

But Bogie...what are ur views on this.
"Obama says he will not raise taxes on anyone making less than $250,000 a year".
The common man is safe...The common man is the worst affected because of this crisis......If one doesn't create confidence in the consumers of whom this section of common man that i refer to make up a huge percentage how can they feel confident to buy stuff...invest and thereby increase trade.....Like he mentioned many a time, most of the small businesses dnt even make 250k..... i'm not arguing but just trying to see where u stand on the above statement ....
Plss excuse...my english is bad....

And so what about Universal (not Socialistic) healthcare? By definition, the fire and police department are socialistic, and that seems to be working out ok. I ask why we are the only industrialized country that doesn't have it.
And come on Bogie, every one of your 'facts' that you post are nothing but a cut and paste job from some crazy left wing chain letter. Please post your own words.

Damage looks minor, but the rad is toast, and I figure the bumper is toast too. Who knows what else... I don't want to get into it, so I figure I'll eat the 1k deductible and have it fixed at the dealer. I leave for Cuba on Tuesday, so this is a major PITA. Hopefully it's perfect again once I'm home.
For what, I don't know. But he has to have someones approval, because last time I checked, out government won't let us go there. I know, maybe he is going down there to recruit for a 'Socialist' revolution in Florida.

Most small businesses that net less than $250K do not employ many people in addition to the business owners and family. Small businesses making just over $250K will cut back on work and cut back jobs, so that they don't make over $250K and become tax targets.
Here's what happens if the corporations get taxed even more heavily and the wealth is redistributed to the poor and middle class.
With that (redistributed) money...
2% of the poor and middle class will use the money to start business and become sucessful.
Most will use it to complement their sufficient income.
Some will use it to get by.
Some will squander it and ask for more.
In turn, the corporations which now have lower profit margins due to higher taxation (realizing the consumer has been given their money through cough socialist means) will raise the prices on their goods and services for the consumers. The gov't can not (it's not socialist enough yet...but you see where the snowball effect comes in)... the gov't can not regulate the corporations to keep them from raising the prices...yet. So the poor/middle class once again have less spending power, and need more to pay for the cost of inflation, caused by the gov't.
In an attempt to maintain low prices to keep up with foreign market prices (China, Mexico, Taiwan, etc.. look where the stuff you buy is made), American corporations will lay off more American workers, and outsource more American jobs overseas, creating more jobless Americans.
Anyway, most of the middle class work for corporations that make over $250K. Higher taxes will mean lower raises, no raises, hiring freezes, lay-offs, higher prices passed to consumers, etc... in order to meet that quarterly number for stock analyst expectations. That's what happens when the government takes away trickle-down economics.
Taxing the corportations in turn hurts the middle class that Obama claims to care so much for - he cares only for their votes.
I hope this helps you understand.

Police, Fire Dept, Military are government agencies, not a socialists wet dream. I live in Connecticut where the poor already have free health care (It's called the Husky plan - Google it) due to higher income and property taxes in our state. Gov Jodi Rell here said some smart words recently - "we don't have a tax revenue problem, we have a spending problem."
The gun control and McCain / Obama views were pretty much the only things cut and pasted from emails, and the definition of Socialism from Wiki or something, but all were accurate as far as I know. Other than that, my posts in this thread that are ideas and views and are expressed in my own words.
My views and opinions are far from those found in crazy left wing emails ... I haven't received any crazy left wing content in my email account. So I think you meant to be-little me by calling me a conservative, proud, hard-working, tax-paying American . Obama's the most liberal left-wing in the Senate, not my kinda guy.

Hmmm... good points - though I feel "socialism" is getting to be used pretty much more than it should - but that's just my opinion
TommyG has a good point. Providing fire protection, Police protection - should health protection be something as well?
What always amazes me is how dire and polarized people become during the political debates. This and religion threads get some very erractic - but passionate - responses. lol
Why can't we be supportive of our government and those that lead it.
Here's a for instance: In 92 when Clinton won, I was pissed off for two reasons. One, he scaled back the yearly salary increase of the military to less than 3%. Second he raised my taxes by 6%! When he swore that he wouldn't.
But, you know, we adapted to the change in income, but then they started doing a reduction in force for the military. From 800k to less than 350k - that was just the Army. Saw alot of good peeps leave due to the buy-outs they gave - I took early retirement myself.
Yet, after all this he did manage to balance the budget and create a surplus (Until G.W. Bush pissed it away and dug us an even deeper hole). i have to give him that - we need to have a balanced budget.
The whole Monica Lewinsky thing was a political witchhunt and it was a shame to see it happen.
But after 8 yrs of a democrat in office we did have a balanced budget. But with all do respect G.H.W. Bush had gotten the ball rolling - it was Clinton's more sizable increase that got it rolling there faster.
But my point is is that I have greater faith in Obama than McCain now. Use to be an ardent supporter of McCain... but now, not so much.
Honestly if either wins they will inherit a sheet pile of an economic mess under G.W.'s term.
Economic free fall
A boondoogle of a war in Iraq and Afghanistan
A budget deficit like no other in history
A beaucratic mess of the Patriot Act
So God help the one that stands at the podium come Inaguration Day.
By the way, Bogie, redistributing wealth is not entirely a bad thing - if done fairly and respectfully. But here's a completely novel approach - let them redistribute themselves?
Bill Gates and his wife set up the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and dropped a cool $100 million in. The guy is worth over $40 billion - so why not $1 billion? Or set up ten $100 million foundations???
Philantropy is a luxury truly the wealthy can only afford.
