Talking ****official af photography contest****

Ok,
So I am going to get the ball running on here. This is open to ANYONE with ANY type of camera. There will be different categories for each.

***RULES***
1. Picture MUST be taken by YOU! It can be either a picture you took now or an existing one you took a while ago.
2. You can only submit ONE picture PER CATEGORY! You can enter all 3 if you want too but only one picture per.
3. DO NOT have any type of information on the picture to identify yourself (see below for why)
4. Keep the pictures appropriate. If it's NSFW don't send it too me.
5. Pictures can NOT have heavy editing or photoshop adjustments. You can do levels adjustments and what-not but you can't be cutting out backgrounds or airbrushing things. Anyone who knows photoshop well enough can take bad picture and make it look good. I want to see who can take a GOOD picture! NO HDR please.
6. Please resize your picture to a max of 800x600 resolution.

***HOW IT WORKS***
1. Choose or go shoot a picture that you want to enter.
2. EMAIL me your picture to jmlpictures@gmail.com
3. In your email YOU MUST INCLUDE the following by 11:59 pm JAN 6th, 2009:
- Your AF Username, Title of Picture (if you want), and what category you want to enter into.
4. Once I get all the pictures I will post them up in each category and you can vote on them for 1 week. Once voting ends I will announce the winner in each category.

***CATEGORIES***
1. Camera Phones
2. Point & Shoot (Any type of camera that does NOT have a removal lens)
3. DSLR (Any camera w/a removable lens)
NOTE: YOU MUST TELL ME WHICH CATEGORY YOU WANT!!! (BTW I can check and see if your lieing so just tell the truth. LOL)

***RANDOM STUFF***
The reason I am doing these all anonymously is because I don't want people to be voting based off of biased opinions. Once the pictures are listed if one of your pictures is in there DO NOT go around saying "Vote for this one..." bla bla bla... if I see that I WILL disqualify you.

Ok! I think thats it! Start sending me pictures!!!

Josh

so are we supposed to take a new picture or can we use an older one?

also, can we enter in multiple categories (with single entries) or are we limited to one category per contest?

You can take one or use an existing one. And yes, you can enter multiple categories but only one entry per.

so would cropping be considered a major altercation to the photo, or not? I have a few options I might submit but I want to have a full grasp on the rules. I'm guessing as long as the editing is within the theme of having a good time and not going to overboard it should be fine, but I figured I'd just ask. And by cropping I mean possibly some extreme cropping drastically changing the original LxH ratio.
