using that logic means its really the gas companies that are telling us to do a gas out. more a reason to not do it. cant wait til BMW comes out with their hydro cars. powered by water and BMW performance.
Enh, it won't matter, the hydrogen infrastructure just isn't there in the US, and won't be for a long time. We simply can't replace enough of our energy needs with hydrogen fast enough.Bio-fuels arethe way of the future for automotive apps. And I think the Aluminum/Air fuel-cell will see more development in the next decade for electric cars in addition to portable electronics and even home power sources.

I can't wait for someone to build a fuel-cell powered turbo diesel hybrid. Can you say 100+ mpg city, anyone? Diesel engines (when tuned right) can run on anything that burns, making them the perfect platform for alternitive fuels, and if you couple that with a hybrid drive system, it will be so efficient that people won't be able to afford not to drive them.
