Default Finally found a mechanic

Brought my 96 A6 to John, AKA 4ringking, in southern NJ on Sat. I have finally found a reliable, honest, good mechanic. For my application John got me genuine Audi parts and the labor was at a very fair amount. He is very knowledgable. Certified Audi/VW & Porsche. He did a great job on my car and will be going back for additional work.

If anyone else is thinking about using his services, fear not.

He is trying to increase his clientell so spread the word.

OK I'll comment -- Genuine Audi parts are not always the best way to go. It depends upon which part you are purchasing.

Genuine Audi parts can be expensive and sometimes you can get better or equal stuff that without the Audi name on it.

Well, I cant imagine an aftermaket ignition switch being better than the Audi part and the Audi oil filter as well.

thanks, beefski... My Audi/VW parts vender would not sell me his OEM ignition switch because he said it had an 100% failure rate. He is one of the best Audi parts guys in the business. If he tells me to go to the dealer for a part, I go to the dealer for the part. Thanks for the business and the write up....

You didn't say it was an ignition switch in your post and you complained that you did not get a reply.
If you wanted to argue with someone you should have said so in the first place

As for the Audi oil filter - most people I know use Mann.

I'll say it again -- It all depends upon what your purchasing - sometimes you have to use Audi stuff but other times you can find better or equal replacement parts for less money.

I did not want to argue, I just wanted to say that the parts I got were the best quality and I relied on the experience and knowledge of John. I could not get the Mann filter as that is all I use as well, my usual stores did not have any in stock.

I get 3-4 Mann filters at a time from Force Five in Concord NH. I usually get them when I'm having them send other parts that I need for the Audi.
