Default Garrett Questions

I was just wondering if a Garrett GT3071R would fit with an APR Turbo Manifold found here:

http://www.aptuning.com/index.php?op...pper&Itemid=29

I read the other posts, but they seemed to deal with turbo problems . . . not upgrades. The only thread that did deal with upgrades recommended the Elim kit, which I am familiar with, but (well you can read below)

It says on the link for the manifold:
Precisely drilled for head studs and threaded (8mm x 1.25" for T25/GT28R/RS or 10mm x 1.5 for T3/GT30R/GT35R) for either T25 or T3 inlet bolt patterns.

So I am assuming it works, but I would like some input from someone who has this turbo, or has experience, or just flat out knows.

The reason I am wondering is I have a chance to get GT3071R brand new from a friend, who bought the turbo, but because his engine blew (before he put it in) he has to sell the turbo for money for his car.

I think you mean ATP from that discription. APR only sells their's with the kit and not alone, also it only comes in a T25. Plenty of people use ATP manifolds. You can get the matching dp from atpturbo.com

The ATP manifold was really made for the transverse, so when it is used on the A4 the turbo sits really far foward. This makes it hard to get a good fitting inlet to a big turbo like the GT3071r if you plan on using a 4". Even fitting a filter directly to the turbo is hard because of the very little space.

You would be better off going with a SPA manifold or something like the Full-race tube manifold. I offer both if you need one.

Here is a picture of a 30r on a FR manifold.

Thank you both for the answers, but I am no longer getting the GT3071R, or even a 1.8T

I have decided to get a Jeep Wrangler (because I found such a damn good deal I couldn't refuse it) and sell my Audi. Hardest decision I ever made, but I will (WILL) be getting a 1.8T next summer. Father is pushing me to take a break from Audi's because they are expensive to maintain.

Basically the Wranglers run forever, and this one was awesome. Kills me to be without an Audi, but it is a temporary thing to get me through the first year of college (but the Yamaha R6 will help)
