welp, it was a short stay...
...looks like my days here are numbered. i went and test drove an 01 A4 this past weekend. they wanted $8500 for it. i applied for financing and they approved me, as long as i had a $4500 down payment. nah, aint gonna happen. if im gonna have a $4500 down payment, ill buy a $4500 car.
more than likely, ill switch platforms and look for a Jetta, since they share the same platform and are a bit cheaper. yeah, theyre a lil weaker in the engine department and i wont have the infamous quattro, but hey the Jetta is still a nice car. sure, i could hold out and find the Audi for me, but not this year.
to those ive spoken with on the forum, its been a great pleasure. www.audiforums.com is a great forum, keep up the good work.

RE: welp, it was a short stay...
while my credit isnt that bad, its still gonna hurt me(a few blemishes that havent gone away yet), no matter where i try to finance it. i havent been with my bank long enough to apply for a loan (first time using a bank in 6 years..strictly cash). they were asking $8500 for the car, i offered a $2000 down payment and the 2 replies they recieved were DECLINED and $4500 down with 27% APR on the remainder of the loan. so ill keep on saving...at the rate i save money, i can have $10,000 saved in 6 months. the problem is, i dont wanna wait to have the money saved to buy a car, cause im pretty tired of my current vehicle. also, im saving to move to Canada as well.
the dealer was not willing to negotiate the price, even when i pointed out bald tire, bad control arms, bad tie rods, leaking windshield washer bottle, busted taillight..to name a few. and the carfax showed NO service for the last 5 years and the dipstick did not make me feel warm and fuzzy inside. so maybe it was a blessing in hindsight.
i was a bit bummed when i originally posted cause i was really looking forward to finally having MY Audi. so, im not going anywhere, yet....
