Default TPMS warning light on 2004 allroad V8

I have a 2004 allroad V8 with a TPMS light that pops on every once in a while (with that shrill warning beep!). Sensors are maybe two years old, so batteries are OK. They were checked at Discount Tire when I got new Michelin MXM4 tires a few months ago. My mechanic has tried every computer method---plus even used a tester that Snap On says is the latest gizmo, but no luck. Any thoughts? I can shut the warning off by using the MENU to refresh tire pressures. Actual tire pressures are spot on.
