I need help in sorting out new tire brands.![Confused](https://www.audiforums.com/forum/images/smilies/confused.gif)
Previous tires are Goodyear Eagles LS, no longer made.
What should I narrow down to?
Here's the list:
Michelan, Contiental Contiprocontact, Hankook H406, Bridgestone Turanza EL 400, Goodyear EAgle GT, Toyo Turansa, Kumho Ecsta

Personally, the Michelins and Continentals are probably the most expensive of the group and I have heard that some of them can put out a decent amount of road noise. Have you gone to tirerack.com and compared the tires side-by-side and read reviews?
It all depends on what you want. Do you want something that will last 40k miles or something that will handle extremely well?
Best of luck!

I don't like road noise. I like to feel the road...want easy steering. The Goodyear Eagle was decent, but it didn't last long (maybe 30k). Should I stick with Goodyear or go for the Korean tire you recommended?

I currently have Kumho Ecsta SPT's and I am extremely happy with them thusfar. I was especially concerned about wet weather handling, and they are superb. My dad will most likely be getting them as well, unless he gets a great deal on a set of the Dunlops mentioned here :

It may be a good read for you as well

I've picked out some new wheels and tires at tirerack.com, and after much careful deliberation chose the Dunlop SP Sport Signature tires. They seemed to have about the best all around performance for a variety of weather conditions.
Now, with new wheels I have the option of having two different types of tire for winter and summer, and if I do go that route I will probably go with the Sumitomo HTR Z III for warm weather. I'd still ditch the OEM P6, because it is not an especially good tire. The grip in snow is marginal, although they are relatively quiet on the highway and have good dry weather and rain grip. In their place, I'd probably opt for something more snow oriented, although considering how little snow we get around here, it might not be worth it.
