thinking about buying a 99 a4 project car
Not sure if this belongs here or in the a4 forum... so here it goes.
Hi... I'm considering purchasing an 99 A4 that was in a front-end wreck. The girl who had it rearended someone. All parts have been fixed to factory. There was a part in the wireing harness inside the car had got burned when the girl rearended the car from the seatbelt tentioner fireing. The carpet, seat, and dash were removed and a new wiring harness was bought for replace the burnt one.
I'm wondering if this is something that I can take on and put together myself. I'm not a car-expert, but I'm also not stupid when it comes to tools and following instructions. If i buy the bentley DVD would that be enough to follow all the steps and get the car in working order? I would need to put the bumper/hood/engine on the front end, as well as seats, dash, steering wheel, etc inside the car.
I don't care how long it takes, I'm just wondering if there's something that can only be done at a body-shop that I might be overlooking. I have a friend that has one of those things you hang the engine on in order to mount it... other than that (and may some special tools for tightening bolts in hard-to-reach-places) is there something else that I might be overlooking.. or can this be done in my garage?
I've attached pics. Thanks for your time guys!
