Service my car
I just bought a 2001 Audi a6 2.7t Quattro drove it from New York to Georgia. I love this car but now I found out there are some problems. First of I need to change the battery the person I bought it from had the wrong battery in it. second I think I need to do an oil change because the car is shaking when I past 50 mph is crazy it wasn’t doing that when I was driving it down, now my ? is do I need to take it to the dealership and pay 115 dollars for an oil change or take it to Wal-Mart or good year (help)…. And what’s a good oil brand for my car.
Also I try to do my emissions but fail
Codes read:
KOEO=Fail DTC2= P1423
Mil Cmd= Fail
Rpm=0699 DTC2=P0421 warm up catalyst efficiency below threshold
Now does anyone know what this is and how much it will cost?
I’m new to driving this car so any help will do thanks

no cheapie oil changes!
Dealership, independent shop that specializes in Audis, or DIY.
No sure why you would think that your shaking problem is going to go away with an oil change. More likely a suspension/balance/tire issue.
Going to need a dealership or an independent shop to get you through emissions. Your SAIP is not working. Most likely problems with your vacuum hoses.
Good luck. keep us updated

When it comes to oil changes, you get what you pay for. The "discount" oil change guy is going to drain your oil, and put new oil in. Hopefully, they change your oil filter but it has been said that sometimes they just charge you for a new one without actually changing it. Even if they do change it, it is most likely an inferior/discount filter.
Plus the Audi's have a belly pan that has to be removed and reinstalled correctly to access the oil pan drain plug, and filter. Its easy to lose parts when you are in a hurry or not paying attention.
If you go to a specialist (dealer) a trained technician is working on your car. Knows the ins and outs. Performs a more detailed inspection concentrating on known wear/failure points. Has access to the OEM recommended fluids/parts. Yeah it it may cost more but its infinitely less risky. Besides, you are going to need someone to fix your emissions issues so that you can pass inspection.
just my opinion

blauparts.com and ecstuning.com are pretty popular for new or aftermarket parts. I have used both with no issues.
force five and shokan are good sources for "picked" parts. I have not used either (yet) other than for quotes, but they seem like quality outfits that are willing to help you make sure you get exactly what you need.
there is always ebay but you need to be careful that you aren't getting knock-off junk. I have had good experience with cup holders and alternator.
dealer always charges a mark up. sometimes prices are pretty decent but you need to be careful. also dealer stocks OEM parts. often times there are aftermarket equivalents available for much less
good luck
