Self Proclaimed Audi Noob, otherwise... not new.
Just wanted to do the right thing and check into this forum for my first post. I am an Audi noob, but not at all new to forums or things automotive.
My name is Justin D. Fender, I live in Plymouth, NC (eastern NC, 1 hour to Nags Head, 2 hours to Raleigh). I am 31 years old, married for 8 years, with 2 children. My kids growing up (1 four, one under 1) caused me to get away from 2 door cars... anyone wanna buy a 240SX? [8D]I amthe minister of youth, children, and education at the first Baptist church.
I've owned trucks, Mustangs, Hondas, Nissans, a VW, Suzuki, etc... This Audi is my first, bought about 2 weeks ago. I've always loved the look of the A4 Avant, and was finally able to get one. Besides the A4, we also have an '06 Kia Sedona, '83 Toyota 4x4, '86 Suzuki Samurai 4x4, and 1992 Nissan 240SX SE coupe that will hopefully be sold tomorrow.
I am in over my head with this Audi, simply because I haven't done much research aside from what not to buy. Let me post what the ad said when I bought it off of craigslist:
All I knew was that I wanted a '98 or new A4 Avant quattro 5 speed. Everything else was just bonus. Now I just have to figure out what all of it is. I just know it'sa nice car.
I have a friend that did service writing for Audi at 2 dealerships for a couple years, and he continues to help me out, him and another friend at a dealership help me with parts, so I have a bit of a hook up.
Hopefully I can add as much as I'm sure all be able to take away from here.

1999.5 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8t Avant wagon 5 speed
Metallic pearl charcoal black exterior, grey interior
Heated Seats
Mika tuned GT 25 software
RS2 - green top injectors
K24 sport turbo
Race Products intercooler ( side mount )
ECS race N75 valve
new spark plugs
VR6 Mass Airflow housing with open air element
MTM cast exhaust manifold (costs $2000+)
URS4 external wastegate
Audi TT 225 hp by-pass valve
Custom fabricated 3" exhaust ( cat delete ) - ( NO Check Engine light )
APR Snub mount
Eibach sport lower springs
RS4 front bumper (scraped, needs to be attached properly, haven't had time)
S4 wheels w/ Continental tires
Timing belt, water pump, seals, thermostat just done along with MAF/throttle body cleaning, new plugs.
Could use some additional tuning. Runs cold (about 40%), probably needs a thermostat, replaced it once, maybe got a bad one. Runs rich, probably related to the engine temp, cat delete, intake piping (MAF) or chip programming. Experiencing some throttle cut on boost, possibly solved by a manual boost controller or throttle cut defender, adjustment of wastegate or new diverter valve. In any case, all fairly easily addressed issues. Very fast and fun, probably running at 250-300hp.
Overall good condition. Synthetic oil changes (Castrol, now Motul)
Body has just the usual small flaws, dings. Nothing major. Driver's seat has a crack in bottom left bolster (they all do that).
