Default Second Intro

Well it took a lot longer to get the audi than anticipated. 99 audi A4 quattro 1.8t auto. Now that I have the car, what are some things that I need to check?

In my previous post I asked about the computer getting reprogrammed (the engine is from a manual and mine is an auto). The dealer wants $115 to check it out, and if all that is needed is a reprogram then that will be the total, but according to them "there may be other modules that need to be replaced" which would increase the price. I called another shop that specializes in german cars and the mechanic there says that the computer needs to be replaced, and that a new one would run about $1000, but to call next and he will look in some of his take offs for a used computer.
Any input on this front?

The owners manual is missing, are there any online sources where I could download the pdf?

willkommen to the forums!

I've seen pdf manuals before but I can't recall where exactly. I've done just fine without mine for the last two years. plenty of good information to be found here, and in other forums

good luck
