Default Scratching my head on this one?

[CENTER]Hello, This is my first post. I have owned a number of Audi's over the past thirty years, and don't foresee my primary ride changing in this lifetime. I presently own an "89" 200 Turbo Quattro, Bolt Action Audi with 227,000 miles on it, and a "96" A6, 2.8 Quattro with 137,000 on it. I've owned the dreaded "84" 5000 automatic, arguably the finest riding automobile I've ever owned? After changing out five, yes five transmissions in this, before letting it go with 350,000 on the odometer. Also an "85" 4000, 4 cylinder, bolt action; this Audi was short lived, making space for my all time favorite ride, an "86" 4000 Quattro. I will own another, hopefully in the very near future? By the way, my two wheeled ride is a "98" BMW R1100 RT with 250,000 miles on it, taking me and my Yorkie all over the US and Canada.
Now the reason I am seeking out an Audi Forum is my "89" 200 Quattro. After letting it sit following a failed emissions test for two months, (the worst the machine could record. For instance, one number was to be good at around 150, it tested out at 4,000) an issue I need answers for; I need answers for why my crankcase filled up with gasoline? About a gallon and a half of fuel in the pan. I drove it briefly from the garage to the car port unwittingly. How did it get there, what's the cure? A little background: The car is new to me, as I've been searching for one for some time. It drives solid, the drive train is tight, it's tired with no noticeable boost from the turbo; expected with this many miles. (Identical to my 4000's 5 cyl at this mileage.) Anyway, Why is the turbo and crankcase filled with gasoline??? I've so much more, because all three of my vehicles have decided to fail me in one fell swoop, Clutch/tranny in the BMW, motor in my A 6, and now this. This is the one I'm focussed on, and will start there. Any and all suggestions and points are greatly appreciated. As you know, we don't just share space with an automobile, we have a full blown love affair with them. Thanks, Lliam
