Hello peeps, new to the world of audi and was interested in purchasing my first but have some questions. My first being what is the difference in the A series and the S series?

From a money stand point the A6 (6cyl) and S4 are around the same price, so what are the differences in these 2 cars as these are the 2 I am looking at.

A4 comes with a 4 cylinder turbo and a more powerful V6 and optional AWD quattro. 0-60mph for both engines are just under 7.5 seconds.

S4 has aluminum grill and accents. 4.2L V8 engine with around 350HP. Standard AWD Quattro. 0-60mph in 4.9 seconds. Top Speed is 155mph. It also has a stiffer suspension and more standard features and bigger wheels and a 6 speed manual transmission.

 

I must have read it wrong, I was under the impression that you could get the A6 in the V6 and the S4 was a turbo charged V6. I didn't realize the s4 was a v8.

Any particular common problems or concerns I should be aware of with these 2 models?? I am leaning towards the S4.

 

I went back and looked and according to the website the S4 is a V6 also (not v8), so if you get the V6 in the A6 will it be the same motor that is in the S4??
