Hey everyone, Just picked out my '04 A4 quattro 1.8t (hope to get it by wed.) Had to trade in my 04 Mazda RX-8 it just wasnt cutting it with the winters and poorly kept highways we have in Pittsburgh!! quick question cause i couldnt find the answer with a "search", any advice on "NO-NO's" with mods/service on this car... ive been a forum member with most all of the cars i've owned and usually every car has one or two mods that you must do in certain order... (ex: WRX- intakes, BIG no-no until you have done some work with the fuel system, RX-8 NO Synthetic oil what-so-ever) i know chips are a good starter with this car, followed by exhaust. But is there anything i should try to shy away from...Any advice like this would be helpful...

Ok... so either nobody cares to answer my question, or yinz guys(<~~~pittsbrugh-ese)arejust being REALLY nice and not flamming me for asking a question you THINK i didnt search for first!?!?!?!? Soto clarify, eg: B5 has belt issues post 90k, coil packs tend to go after chipping the car, and best off to upgrade DV after chipping...
Most posts on this forum dealing with maintnace issues(that i have found) seem to be with the b5's! Now im sure the B6's have they're quirks like anything else but i havent seen much on here other than a fewradio lock outs and a few people having start-up trouble in cold weather after re-fueling (weird but ok)... anybody have any helpful do and donts that havent been beaten to death on this forum...

hey man welcome to the forums... big NO NOs on Audis are BOV's audis have a closed loop system and if one put a bov on it will mess **** up..... ummmm as for other things i cant think of any for the newer ones that you need to watch out for

 

hey thanks man... yeah i have seen that alot in my searching here... i can see how it could possibly richen things, but if thats the case why is it so common in most other turbo cars. is this a situation that can be fixed with tuning or a AF controller. i kinda get the feeling that a bov is really frowned upon herebecause it gives the impression of "fast and the furious" type mod, and takes away from the class of the audi... just personal opinion cause im new to audis... thanks for the help though man, ill be picking up my carin the morning so ill be posting pics...
