My name is Aaron. I'm a USAF Veteran (2000-2006). I first had a Dodge Ram D150 w/ 360 crate engine. My older brother's 97 Eagle Talon TSi AWD introduced me to the wonderful world of forced induction. I followed suit with a bran spankin new 2003 Jetta 1.8T and did just about every single bolt on there is. Never did Dyno it, but our closest estimate was about 280HP on the SSK03 and about 305-315HP on the K04. I didn't go too crazy with it. Hard up for cash, I had to sell the Jetta and I picked up the 96 Volvo 850R SportVagen. Now this car was a trip! Inline 5 w/turbo and a limited top speed of 156mph. It's always fun to run down a mustang GT in a station wagon and let the guy know the only thing you have in it is a K&N filter, and a disconected wastegate actuator. Of course, I did end up flipping the car, which brings me here. I'm now in the market for either a 1.8T GTi or (if I can swing the bill), a 01-02 Audi S4. I like to research cars before I buy them so here I am. I'll later post to gather member opinions on the S4 and Pros and Cons. No evidence needed (yet), I'll just be looking for opinion to get a feel for everyone and the car itself. Thanks all for the warm welcome!

Welcome. You'll probably get alot more valuable information on the S4 board if you're trying to research that specific car. But welcome anyway. Hopefully you'll be an owner soon!

 

That's where I'll concentrate the most of my reading and posting, but I wanted to make sure everyone new my experience with the 1.8T engine,so I could answer any questions someone might have for me as well. I'll get some pics up of my Jetta or something later (even though it is an Audi forum), but almost all the parst say audi/vw on them, so hopefully you all can let it slide this one time.Thanks
