New. New Jersey Audi Guy
Seasons Greetings everyone from the Garden State. I'm an Audi fan, but yet to be a 1st time owner. I'm fond of the old metal, '81 -91 Quattros and the Audi 90 series. I'm still in the research stages -- so-o-o much to learn.
I've gone to the local Audi dealer, a coupla miles away, but not too much info there. They would be interested, tho, in leasing me a new A4 . As mentioned, I like the old metal
I'm slowly going thru the forum and search, but anyone on here with similar interests that can help a buddy out to maybe put one of these in my driveway would be greatly appreciated: what to look for, do's and dont's and when to run away, etc. I know, that's a lot of information, maybe just the cliff notes version or a point in the right direction
Thanks for reading.

Wilkommen to the forums!
seems like most of the folks on here have newer (late '90s early 2000's) Audis. There are a few of the old guard in the "Classic Audi" section of the forums. The old metal that you reference are different beasts from what most of us are working with. With the vintage you are looking into I see it going one of two ways: 1. Pay a lot of money for a restored, show quality, don't drive it too much, kind of car. 2. Pay a little for a major project to even get it running kind of car.
good luck finding something. Keep us updated
