Default New Member Looking @ Audi A4 Quatro

Hello! I'm interested in a 1998 Audi A4 Quatro with 1.8 4 cyl Turbo. It's a great looking car that has around 94,000 miles. It's been well maintained with very minimal repairs. My question is: What is the typical life expectancy out of one of these 4 cylinders. I'm not afraid of high-mileage as I own a 92 Dodge Caravan with around 170,000, had a Chevrolet Suburban with 165,000, a diesel Sub with 230,000, and an old Chevrolet Celebrity wagon with 175,000. I'm a firm believer in maintenance on a vehicle. The only issue is that all of the above were either 6 or 8 cylinder. I've heard that 4 cylinders have a somewhat shorter life due to the amount of work they're doing to power the vehicle. I would have to say that this would be the primary reason in holding me back from purchasing. It is very clean and looks great! The price is satsifactory as it is around $700 to $800 below private party book price. The reason is due to damage disclosure on title - fender-bender with 8000 miles on it and needs a windshield - cracked on passenger side. The repairs were done at an Audi dealer and there was no damage done to the frame of the vehicle. However; people are leary of body repair issues when they need to be disclosed on title.

Any information or advise you could give me would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!

Ray
