Default New to me 2006 A6 Avant

Hey guys my name is Joe I live near Chattanooga Tennessee and I just picked up a 2006 a6 Avant Quattro 3.2. I have always loved the avant wagons especially in A6 form. My particular car is silver with black interior it has 154K miles. It has a clean Carfax with lots of service history over the years mostly through the Audi dealer. Actually spotted the car last month on craigslist for $2000. The ad said that the car was non-running. I called and talk to The owners and decided that I had better wait because it was the holidays and I didn't need a project at the time. Long story short they traded the car in at the Audi dealership for a new Audi and the car was sent to auction. A local Audi VW Mercedes independent picked it up at auction and had to put in a new fuel pump module I believe is what he said. I test drove the car it drove wonderful and I handed over $4600 cash. This was on Thursday

I brought the car home this weekend to check it out real good and to join some online forums to see what kind of information I can find out about these cars. Turns out the 3.2 as you guys know is prone to have oil leaks. Well if I would have pulled the top plastic covers on top of the engine and done some inspecting I would have noticed just how bad of an oilleak it has. When I was checking out the car I was mainly concerned with timing chain tensioner's and excessive noise and just did not think about oil leaks. Even though it is a beautiful car inside and out and shows absolutely no wear and tear it needs to have this issue addressed. The oil is pooling up under the intake manifold in the valley. The oil is then running down the front of the Motor covering all the pulleys, serpentine belt, AC compressor, alternator and all related parts. The valve cover gasket's were replaced in 2014 at the Audi dealership according to the Carfax .

So anyway that is my introduction I am going to do a lot of searching on here through the a6 section and see if I can get to the bottom of this oil leak. I will post a thread regarding this situation in the correct a6 tech help forum. I just wanted to say hello and tell you a little bit about my car and thank you in advance for any help that I received from this website. Thanks Joe
