if your looking for gas milage i dont think a ttv6 will be your best bet... before you buy make sure the timing belt has been done, and i know there are a few other things to check out, but over all it is a great car, i tested both auto and manual and both were very nice... check the carfax on it, and if you like it get it, an S4 is an S4.

I think Audi parts cost more than the parts for Jeep. That's one thing you need to consider.
Second, I agree with AA4Tristan, the S4 is a twin turbo V6 so it isn't the best MPG car in the market.

Gas mileage on mine without the apr chipp was like 17-18 miles ariund town and 25 on the highway. With the chip it goes down considerably. If you're not looking on dumping money into a car s4 is not the way to go. Believe me you're gonna spend money on these things evenif parts don't break and you want to replace or upgrade **** plan on spending $$$ and lots of it. Read the FAQ's page on the s line page it'll tell you eveything to know because your gonna wanna replace things that are gonna be faulty anyway and if your not mechanically inclined your gonna spend more money than you want.
